HOW TO: Maintain and repair bleached and/or damaged hair
hi guys! If any of you follow me on social media you will see I recently bleached my hair and in the process of going blonde. I had a full head balayage near the roots so my roots weren't bleached but they were highlighted. I am currently at stage one of going blonde and my hair is a sort of caramel/honey blonde with quite a bit of brass in it. Because I bleached dark brown Virgin hair I have to take extra care to maintain it and take care of it, using the right products and not allowing my hair to become extremely damaged or broken.
Today I have some top tips on how to save and maintain your hair that I hope you find useful.
Top tips to prevent (further) hair damage:
1- Try to dye/bleach your hair as little as possible

Top tips to prevent (further) hair damage:
1- Try to dye/bleach your hair as little as possible
If you over process your hair with bleach or dye you can have extremely damaged hair, which won't go away until you cut the damage away and re-grow your hair.
2- gentle brushes
Your hair won't have the same bounce after you have over processed it or you have broken hair, so you will need to be gentle and use the right brushes with softer bristles to avoid further break. Try and steer clear from plastic bristled brushes, so yes... No more tangle teasers, as great as the are at releasing knots they are not great for broken hair.
3- let it loose
Get your hair trimmed regularly to get rid of split ends and frizzy ends. A fresh start will do your hair the world of good and you will notice the difference
4- No pain no heat!
Try your hardest to stay clear or any heated hair tools, such as flat irons, curlers, hair dryers and anything like that. If you do make sure to use heat protectant
Products I would recommend you to use and my hair routine:
First of all, you really want to add moisture back into your hair after the bleach or damage you already have. I really recommend Aussie miracle moisture shampoo. This shampoo adds an intense amount of moisture to your hair and lathers up so much that you only need to use small amounts every time so it lasts a long time which is a bonus! Personally I double shampoo because of the thickness of my hair, but all in all this shampoo is amazing and smells delicious.
Along with this, you want to use a conditioner that will really work well with the shampoo so they compliment each other. Of course, I opted for the Aussie miracle moisture conditioner as the products work wonders together on your hair. This conditioner will make your hair feel silky, soft and smell like sweeties:)
After ive washed my hair and rinsed the shampoo and conditioner out thoroughly I like to use a deep conditioning hair mask. I usually like to alternate between the Aussie 3 minute miracle reconsstructor and then Toni & guy deep conditioning mask. Both of these make my hair feel lovely silky and sleek but I think out of the two I prefer the Aussie one. Both masks I apply to the mid lengths and ends, avoiding the scalp. I leave these on for 3 minuted each then rinse them out well.
After ive got out the shower, I like to run either Morogan oil or the Garnier sleek restorer oil throughout my hair just to add shine and extra softness. I also like to apply herbal essence split ends cream on the ends of my hair just to seal any split ends and this makes the ends of my hair smell like raspberries.
I do apologise for this VERY LONG blog post but I could not find anything like this online when I was thinking about going blonde, so I spoke to some professionals and used my own knowledge to put this together for you. I hope you like it and let me know what you want me to write about next, leave it in the comments or tweet me @taymarshall98 check out my Instagram to @taylormxrshall
Until then my loves
Be you,
Taylor xo
